Century 21 has reached a special milestone as it celebrates its 50 years, working to help people achieve their property needs. They first opened their doors internationally in 1971.
While many things have changed over the past half-century, including the type of houses we live in and their value, the Century 21 (C21) network has strived to achieve the absolute best result for their clients in an ever-increasingly competitive industry.
From 1971 to 1976, the franchise opened around 100 new offices each month. Today, C21 has 13,500 independently owned and operated offices with 152,000 agents around the world.
C21 came to Australia in July 1994. It has been led and operated by chairman and owner Charles Tarbey.
Prior to taking on the Australasian arm of Century 21, Mr Tarbey created and grew his Combined Real Estate business to 56 offices, which he merged into Century 21 to commence a new era of real estate.
The C21 brand has always focused on delivering exceptional experiences to buyers and sellers alike.
Century 21 Australia Chief Executive Officer James Bell explained Mr Tarbey’s philosophy has been integral to developing the Century 21 brand over the past 50 years.
“We are thrilled to be celebrating the brand’s 50th year in business and remain ever focused on working relentlessly to ensure our customers receive the exceptional service they deserve at all times,” Mr Bell said.
“We are proud of our history and the positive contribution every person in the C21 network makes on a daily basis to help members of their community achieve their real estate goals.”
Over their 50 years in business, C21 has received many accolades for their service and innovation. This includes attaining a five-star rating in the Canstar Blue Survey for Excellence in Customer Service.
Most recently, the brand was named as the number one fastest franchise business globally, as well as the top global real estate franchise as part of Entrepreneur magazine’s Top Franchise 2021 list.
Century 21 is a globally recognised brand, with an increasing presence in 86 countries. It has grown to become the largest real estate organisation in the Asia Pacific region.
