Century 21 Australasia has announced the appointment of Warren McCarthy as their new CEO.
Mr McCarthy, an industry veteran of 35 years has held senior roles with LJ Hooker (as CEO) where he was instrumental in growing the network across Australia as well as into India and South East Asia.
More recently he was a member of the McGrath Group in the Sutherland Shire of Sydney.
Speaking to Elite Agent, Mr McCarthy says he is excited about joining the group, particularly with the momentum of the global rebrand refresh as well as Century 21s focus on new training programs.
“Teaching, training and development is so critical for every person in the real estate industry, whether it’s sales, PM, leadership, corporate or otherwise – and Century 21 have a great suite of training programs.”
In addition to his wealth of experience and industry contacts, Mr McCarthy brings to Century 21 a fresh mindset and a passion for delivering superior service.
“It all starts and finish with relationships.
“Obsess over the customer and you will win.”
McCarthy is no stranger to managing through a market downturn as some of his key years at LJ Hooker were during the GFC, and says there are lessons to be learned from that time that can be applied now.
“A market is just a market. There’s nothing we can really do or worry about there.
“What we can do is simply get our basics right and work with the customers appropriately to solve their problems.”
Mr McCarthy also says the timing of the Century 21 rebrand is fortunate. Even though conditions might be challenging, it demonstrates the company is open for business and ready to help customers.
“It’s looking great, it’s evolving; we really have an opportunity to grow and develop on this foundation.
And, with a number of other exciting projects on the go, such as Seven West partnership – which includes the House Rules, McCarthy says it is “exciting times”.
Chairman of Century 21 Charles Tarbey said, “We are very fortunate to have Warren join Century 21 where he will help us leverage the brand and system superiority we have built over the past 24 months to drive revenue growth for our franchisees”.
Mr Tarbey will continue to operate within the business as Century 21’s Chairman overseeing the team and the franchisees alongside Mr McCarthy to ensure consistency, growth and support for the offices are kept as the utmost priority.
