Funnyman Conan O’Brien has listed his Santa Barbara beach house for US$16.5 million, which would see him make a tidy profit.
According to The Dirt, the talk show host and his wife Liza paid US$7.9 million in 2015, for the two-building structure in Carpinteria.
Built in the late 1950s and sitting on 0.41-acres, the oceanside property offers sweeping coastline views and 15 metres of beach frontage.
The property contains two structures including a two-bedroom, one-bathroom main house with just over 92sq m of living space up top, and a nearly 37sq m playroom/gym down below with access to a changing room/shower, half-bath and surfboard storage.
Additionally, the 106sq m guesthouse boasts an upstairs penthouse-style setup with a living room, kitchenette, full bathroom and bedroom boasting a wraparound deck overlooking mountain vistas, while on the lower level there’s a single bedroom and bathroom.
Inside, the great room features a contemporary wood-burning stove and bi-folding glass doors opening out to an ocean-view deck with a barbecue, built-in seating and plenty of room for alfresco dining, plus two sets of steps leading down to a small grassy lawn and the beach beyond.
A galley-style kitchen includes open shelving, granite countertops, high-end stainless appliances and an eat-in peninsula bench.
On top of his luxury beach house, O’Brien owns a Pacific Palisades mansion he paid about $19.5 million for in 2011.
