Ellen DeGeneres and Portia de Rossi sell Beverly Hills mansion to a neighbour

Ellen DeGeneres and Portia de Rossi have offloaded their Beverly Hills mansion to their next-door neighbour, just eight months after buying it.

According to The Dirt, the famous couple sold the midcentury modern home in the mountains above Beverly Hills to neighbour, high-profile Hollywood mogul Guy Oseary, for US$8.8 million in an off-market deal.

The pair originally paid US$8.5 million for the property, however, any profits are likely to have been erased by taxes, maintenance, any renovation costs and commissions.

The single-storey house includes 427sq m of living area dominated by rich wood trim, long hallways and walls of glass.

Inside there are various living areas with the primary bedroom suite offering a private office and built-in soaking tub.

There are four additional guest bedrooms and six bathrooms.

The home also boasts Douglas fir cabinetry, midcentury-appropriate terrazzo floors, swathes of Calacatta marble, LED lighting and a kitchen with high-end stainless appliances.

Outside, the property sits on nearly half an acre shaded by mature trees and enveloped by lush gardens.

DeGeneres and de Rossi have been busy selling their property portfolio, however, the pair still own a Montecito mansion and ranch.
