First 3D-printed house in Wolf Ranch completed

The first house in the world’s largest 3D-printed neighbourhood has just been completed.

Located in Georgetown, Texas, the neighbourhood known as Wolf Ranch will feature more than 100 3D-printed single-family residences when complete, according to Architectural Digest.

The ambitious project, first announced in 2021, is the result of a three-way collaboration between Icon, a leading 3D printing company, Lennar, a prominent home building company, and Bjarke Ingels Group, which is renowned for innovative architectural designs.

Contrary to the typical construction site filled with the sounds of hammers and machinery, the Wolf Ranch site is a testament to cutting-edge technology.

The first 3D-printed house, situated within the Genesis Collection, is part of the Icon-Lennar-Bjarke Ingels contribution to the larger Wolf Ranch development, which will feature 100 3D-printed homes, in conjunction with other properties built using traditional construction methods.

Within this futuristic 3D-printed community, potential buyers can choose from a range of eight different floor plans, varying in size from 146sq m to 196sq m, featuring three to four bedrooms.

The recently completed Rune model, with its hip roof and front entry garage, exemplifies the innovative design approach that embraces 3D-printed elements such as curved white walls and concrete floors, including a remarkable 3D-printed kitchen island bench.

The progress is impressive, with 80 of the 100 3D-printed homes already under construction, and one-third of the wall systems have been successfully printed.

Prospective buyers are keenly eyeing the homes, and sales have already begun, with five units already sold to date.

The home prices range from $475,000 to $599,000, reflecting the blend of cutting-edge technology and modern architectural designs offered by this pioneering development.

Wolf Ranch’s 3D-printed neighbourhood is not only redefining the construction industry but also presenting a glimpse into the future of sustainable and innovative housing solutions.

As the community nears completion, it is sure to attract attention from those seeking to embrace the latest advancements in homebuilding while enjoying the comfort and style of a modern residence.
