Former US Vice President Harris to Headline AREC25

The Australasian Real Estate Conference (AREC) has announced former US Vice President Kamala D. Harris will participate in a moderated conversation at this year’s event, marking her first speaking engagement in Australia.

The 27th annual conference, returning to the Gold Coast Convention and Exhibition Centre on May 25-26, will feature 32 speakers under the direction of AREC Founder John McGrath.

“We have always had a reputation for delivering the highest quality and sought-after speakers, making it the stand-out event in the southern hemisphere for our industry.

“This year’s line-up has surpassed our expectations,” Mr McGrath said.

Netflix star Mauricio Umansky from “Buying in Beverly Hills” will also be making the journey to Australia.

According to Mr McGrath, “Mauricio will bring a wealth of knowledge in managing high-performing teams as he has built an iconic personal brand across the competitive markets of Los Angeles, Miami, and New York.”

The two-day event will focus on practical and tactical strategies for creating long-term industry success.

On Day 1, industry coach Josh Phegan will discuss performance and recovery, lead generation, and business planning.

On Day 2, Umansky will share insights on personal branding, client relationships, negotiation skills, and selling luxury properties.

Other headliners include entrepreneur Steven Bartlett appearing via satellite, renowned sports performance coach Tim Grover, and Australian Olympic swimming champions Emma McKeon and Ariarne Titmus in their first joint speaking engagement.

Izzy Savva, Head of Total Real Estate Training, the organiser of AREC, said, “Our continued focus has always been to innovate and evolve the AREC experience for our delegates.

“This year we have developed a program that Australia has never experienced previously with an exceptional calibre of speakers who will share their diverse insights and learnings.”

A dedicated property management track will run concurrently in a designated hall over the two days.

With the inclusion of former Vice President Harris, AREC has drawn interest for broadening the scope of its speaker line-up beyond the property sector.

โ€œWhen selecting keynote speakers for AREC, we want to those who can add a different perspective for the industry and those who can share their experiences, knowledge and insights around their own success, and challenges,” said Mr McGrath.

“We look for inspiring and diverse speakers with interesting and diverse backgrounds that will inspire our delegates to better themselves and how they operate in business.”

AI and tech is also expected to be a major focus this year, with Ryan J. Coyne, co-founder and head of IT at SERHANT, joining the line-up.

โ€œAfter such a resounding success of last years keynote, Ryan Serhant, we have added his co-founder and head of IT at SERHANT, Ryan J. Coyne to this yearโ€™s program.

“He will focus on the following: Using Data and Analytics to drive Real Estate Decisions, and Embracing AI: how Artificial Intelligence is shaping the Future of Real Estate,” explained Ms Savva.

This year PMs will also have dedicated keynote speakers including Josh Phegan, who will focus on โ€œPM Reimaginedโ€ and Anthony Bell, who will share โ€œStrategies on how to build a sustainable rentroll”.

โ€œWhen AREC first started, its early focus centred around sales techniques,” said Savva.

“Now the event has shifted to a more customer centric approach with a depth of information that includes marketing, technology and the client experience. AREC has evolved to be a more holistic and well rounded learning eventโ€.
