Francesca Packer-Barham’s luxurious Sydney apartment for sale

Francesca Packer-Barham’s opulent apartment in the renowned the Horizon complex is about to hit the market with a price guide of $32 million.

Highland Double Bay’s David Malouf and Black Diamondz’s Monika Tu and Jad Khattar, have secured the listing, which is for sale via expression of interest.

An interior designer, Ms Packer-Barham is the daughter of Gretel Packer and her ex-husband, English financier Nick Barham, and the granddaughter of late media tycoon Kerry Packer.

She’s made the decision to sell the residence, the city’s largest single-level apartment, as she has been spending an increasing amount of time in London.

The luxurious 565sq m lateral apartment is a visual masterpiece, with its interior remodel crafted by award-winning interior design studio, Mim Design.

The five-bedroom, five-ensuite apartment offers sweeping views of Sydney Harbour, including the bridge and Opera House, as well as the city.

In a class of its own, the apartment has an open-plan marble kitchen with butler’s pantry, a wine cellar, media room, four substantial balconies and eight car spaces.

Francesca Packer-Barham’s apartment has a private lift lobby.

The residence also offers a completely self-contained apartment that has separate access, if required.

The master wing of the apartment has his and her walk-in robes and a luxurious marble ensuite with double shower and free-standing bath.

Other features of the home include a private lift lobby, keyless entry, fingerprint scanning and facial recognition access.

Mr Malouf said he and the Black Diamondz team secured the listing due to their reputation in the high-end Sydney market.

“Highland Double Bay and Black Diamondz have been appointed due to the depth of the buyer pool we deal with and our proven track record in the top-end market,” he said.

“This collaboration will ensure a wide reach across a prestige client base who would be interested in this unique offering.”

Mr Malouf said the campaign would be conducted via EOI, with inspections via private appointment only.

So far there has been interest in the apartment from both local and expat buyers.

He said the top end of the market had been performing strongly.

“We’ve got expats, who have been living overseas and want to return to Australia, definitely showing interest as well as local wealth,” Mr Malouf said.

“The prestige market hasn’t seen this much top-end activity in a while.

“There has been a number of substantial record sales in the housing market which is a great opportunity to take an offering like this to the market.

“There are several homes in the Eastern Suburbs listed at price points exceeding $50-$70 million, raising the question of where these owners will go next.

“Francesca’s apartment perfectly aligns with the expectations of buyers at this level, offering the ultimate in sophistication and grandeur.”

Francesca Packer-Barham’s apartment has incredible views.

Mr Malouf said the apartment was also a standout being in the highly-sought, Harry Seidler-designed ‘the Horizon’ complex, which includes a range of amenities, including a pool and tennis court, 24hr concierge and a fitness centre.

“The demand for substantial apartments above 400sq m internally, is incredibly high, both among expats and locals,” he said.

“This residence meets this demand, providing an offering that is currently lacking in supply in the Eastern Suburbs.

“There is definitely a strong buyer pool out there at the moment.”
