Golfing legend Greg Norman is back in Australia to launch a $300 million luxury residential community in southwest Sydney alongside developer Sekisui House.
According to The Daily Telegraph, the residential project known as Norman Estates at Gledswood Hills is Norman’s first branded residence in Australia and is being built in conjunction with a nine-hole golf course designed by his company.
Sekisui House said half of the 190 luxury homes have already been sold, with properties priced from $1.268 million.
Located 45km from the Sydney CBD, the $300 million luxury residential community boasts a range of lifestyle amenities including an exclusive resident-only clubhouse lounge, gymnasium, tennis court, and resort-style pool, surrounded by green parklands and views over the adjoining Greg Norman signature and Camden Lakeside golf courses.
Norman said he wanted to produce something “that differentiated itself from the rest of the community”.
“I have done that successfully in other parts of the world; America, Asia and the Middle East. I wanted to do it here in Australia,” Norman told The Daily Telegraph.
“You want to be different, you identify the growth corridor.
“The Sydney growth corridor was going southwest, we saw that back in 2018/2019 so why not try and get ahead of it.”
Norman said the project was a collaborative effort that would benefit the broader community.
“Delivering on what is required for this part of southwestern Sydney … we have done it and we have done it successfully,” he said.
“I am proud of those things and I am proud of the team.
“I am just one guy.
“To build a successful business you need a team of great people.”
The Hall of Famer, who spent 331 weeks ranked number one in the world, said he hadn’t yet played a round at the new course but said he’d get there soon.
Norman himself has a $400 million property portfolio and has other branded Norman Estates around the world in Vietnam, California, Florida, Mexico and Dubai.
The Florida-based businessman has also played a role in numerous master-planned communities in Australia including Pelican Waters in Queensland to Settlers Run in Victoria.
He said the Gledswood Hills project would “echo the design of Norman Estates enclaves around the world”.
