Harcourts Australia names 2018 Hall of Fame inductees

During a gala black-tie evening, Harcourts International inducted Lisa and Ben Bernacki of Harcourts Alliance (WA) into the Harcourts Hall of Fame. Mr and Mrs Bernacki join a list of select real estate professionals recognised with the highest accolade in the Harcourts network.

“To be awarded a place in the Hall of Fame amongst the very people that inspire us in business and as humans is truly an honour and a privilege,” said Mrs Bernacki.

“It really brings home that we are succeeding in how we want to be seen in our own business.”

Described as a professional duo that expertly strike a balance between family and business, their leadership serves as an example to everyone with whom they encounter.

“Lisa and Ben are outstanding individuals and brilliant examples of the qualities that we hold dear throughout the Harcourts family,” said Marcus Williams, CEO Harcourts Group Australia.

“They are people of purpose and conviction in both their personal and professional lives, and they lead by shining example. They bring qualities to not only their team, with whom they share a strong bond, but also to the community.”

Mr and Mrs Bernacki began their careers in real estate around the same time in the late 1990s, but separately, before finding their way to each other. Ben started out in sales while Lisa was a receptionist and personal assistant in the Roy Weston group, which later became the Harcourts group in Western Australia in 2004.

Harcourts Alliance was born and quickly shot to the number one office, a position it maintained from 2005 to 2007. In 2007 the business went through some ownership changes and it was at this point that Mr and Mrs Bernacki became the major financial shareholders, with Mr Bernacki taking up the role of managing director.

Earlier this year, they teamed up with Gail and Andrew Woods to open a second office, Harcourts Alliance Valley to Vines, bringing the total team to 54 high-performing professionals serving Joondalup and Perth’s northern corridor.

Mr Bernacki brings culture and a passion for his team that see him always striving to achieve his goal of number one office. In 2012 he achieved the number one position, an achievement he repeated in 2013. Highly regarded amongst his peers, clients staff and within the industry, he was honoured with the 2015 Roy Weston Medal.

Always quick to attribute the accolades to their entire team, which is exactly what has built Harcourts Alliance into the office that it is today.

“We are grateful for the many congratulatory messages we have received and to also receive them from our peers and competitors in the wider real estate community is exciting as we are living the Harcourts values and it’s being noticed out there,” said Mrs Bernacki.

“Professionally, for us, we look forward to making more of these connections and bringing an awareness of what we can offer. Our reputation is built from people first, doing the right thing, being courageous and fun and laughter.

“We have had our challenges along the way but always fall back on those principals. We have the support of an incredible team that drive us to want to be better, for them, our clients and their families.”

The Harcourts Alliance team has repeatedly been recognised for its excellence amongst the Harcourts franchise network, including Top Office, Top Sales and achievements across sales and property management.

Joining the celebration were their children Rohan, Kyle, Isaac and Samuel, along with Mrs Bernacki’s sister Robyn and her father David.

Harcourts Hall of Fame members attending the ceremony included: Robert McCormick, Wendy Lenaghan, Paul Wright, Alison Aitken, Michael Brock, John and Lynette McFadden, Irene Green, Mike Green, Jo Clifford, Bob Wolff, Martin Cooper, Tony Morrison, Steve Caradoc-Davies, Martin Millard and Lee Perry.

The awards evening, where outstanding performers were recognised across 31 categories in residential and commercial sales, property management and business achievements, and culminated the two-day Australia National Conference.
