Aussie good guy and X-Men star Hugh Jackman has put his three-storey Manhattan apartment with “staggering” views on the market for a cool US$38.9 million.
According to the New York Post, Jackman – who is busy performing in a revival of The Music Man on Broadway – purchased the 1022sq m property for US$21 million in 2008.
The five-bedroom, seven-bathroom property was designed by Pritzker Prize-winning architect Richard Meier who not only designed the building’s exterior, he also had a hand in styling the interior of Jackman’s unit.
The unit spans the building’s eighth, ninth and 10th floors and features an open-format dining area, an eat-in island bench in the unit’s kitchen and through its wall-to-wall windows boasts views of the Hudson River and the New York skyline.
The eighth floor offers an enormous recreation room and four bedrooms, all with ensuite baths, as well as a guest bedroom with a half bath.
On the ninth, there’s the double-height great room, as well as a home office with a gas fireplace, the kitchen and a dining area.
The 10th floor is dedicated to the primary bedroom and its spa-like bath, dressing rooms and a sauna, as well as an exercise area with all three stories connected by a spiral staircase.
Listing agent, Deborah Grubman said being designed by architect Richard Meier made the property incredibly unique.
“The unit has been updated over the years, but Meier’s touch undoubtedly still makes it a little more unique and special plus the views are staggering,” Ms Grubman told The Post.
“I’m particularly partial to that western view, where you can see the sunsets, Statue of Liberty and the river and boats moving.
“It’s a view that’s ever-changing.”
