After eight years operating as an independent agency, Stellario Realty Group has joined the Century 21 network and opened a new office in Mt Gravatt, Queensland.
Principal Lucky Tennekoon established Stellario in 2013 to service the Brisbane suburbs of Wishart, Mansfield, Mt Gravatt and surrounding areas.
At the time, she had just embarked on her real estate career after a highly successful 20-year stint in insurance sales.
“After first selling insurance door-to-door, I had worked my way up to top management level, and had broken four Australian sales records and one world record along the way,” Ms Tennekoon explained.
“When my children left home, I thought ‘what next?’ and decided to embrace my passion for real estate.
“I’d been buying, renovating and selling over the years and thought I might draw on my previous sales experience to sell a couple of properties.”
After working at a real estate agency for five months, Ms Tennekoon took the plunge and decided to go it alone.
She rented out an office with the humble ambition of selling just a couple of properties a year, starting with the homes of her friends.
From there, her reputation rapidly grew, and the agency expanded to encompass about 14 staff across sales, administration, and property management.
Along the way there were a number of awards, with Stellario named Agency of the Year for Mt Gravatt three times on Rate My Agent, while Ms Tennekoon was also recognised personally as Agent of the Year.
With the events of 2020, Ms Tennekoon explained she took the opportunity to focus on her future.
“Last year gave me an insight into what I want as a principal,” Ms Tennekoon said.
“I realised my style is different, we’re a boutique agency and I’m all about providing personalised service.
“I’m lucky to have a gift for selling and negotiation, and I only take on a few properties at a time to ensure I can give each vendor 100 per cent.”
After speaking with Century 21 Chief Executive Officer James Bell, Ms Tennekoon said she was quickly convinced C21 was the perfect fit for her agency, courtesy of the brand’s commitment to training, support, recruitment systems and marketing.
“I’m very excited that Stellario is joining the Century 21 family. We will continue to provide a personalised boutique service but now have the support of a larger team and a consumer facing brand behind us,” Ms Tennekoon said.
Mr Bell said he was thrilled to have the successful independent agency choose to join the C21 network.
“I would like to officially welcome Lucky and her team to the C21 family. Having known Lucky for some time as a competitor when I operated my own real estate agency in the area, I feel privileged that she has entrusted her business with C21 and look forward to seeing what we can accomplish together,” Mr Bell said.
The new office will benefit from Century 21’s resource hub, proprietary business management platform eSales and a raft of training such as external coaching programs, C21 University, as well as their recently launched ‘Recharge’ podcast, which aims to provide real estate knowledge and information to their network of affiliates on the go.
