The Agency has appointed former realestate.com.au executive Jason Crerar as state manager in Tasmania, as the brand looks to expand in the Apple Isle.
Mr Crerar said he was excited to bring a “fresh approach” to real estate to Tasmania and was looking forward to growing The Agency in the state.
“The Agency is a new brand, essentially, to Launceston and Tasmania,” he said.
“I see it as an interstate, metro Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane brand that’s come to a regional market like Launceston and with that it brings a whole new range of concepts, ideas and technology.”
Mr Crerar said his first port of call would be to understand The Agency’s unique points of difference and to emphasise that to the agents on the ground.
“Then I’ll look to take that to the market on a bigger scale which, logically, would mean recruitment and, medium to long-term, more locations,” he said.
“The Agency offers different tools, resources, information, motivation, training and access to people with big picture ideas.”
Mr Crerar said The Agency had entered the Tasmanian market about 18 months ago, with the acquisition of Bushby Property Group and it was wonderful to be able to offer vendors and landlords in the area greater choice in who they could select for their property needs.
“It brings a fresh approach for vendors and landlords,” he said.
“My strong understanding of the local area signals an exciting new growth chapter for the business and also for my real estate career.”
The Agency General Manager of Sales – Victoria and Tasmania, Sally O’Connell, said she was delighted to have Mr Crerar join the brand.
“Jason Crerar has unrivalled expertise and understanding of the Tasmanian real estate industry having spent the past 12 years at realestate.com.au,” she said.
“He has been working alongside some of the best agents, property managers, business owners, trainers, and business coaches and other professionals in Launceston and across the state.
The Agency Chief Executive Officer of Real Estate, Matt Lahood, said Mr Crerar joined The Agency as part of its national leadership team and would spearhead strategic growth into new markets across Tasmania.
“Jason will also focus on growth and team development as well as community engagement,” he said.
“His appointment working closely with The Agency General Manager of Sales – Victoria and Tasmania positions The Agency for sustained success in Tasmania.”
