Jen Williams appointed Queensland Executive Director of Property Council

Jen Williams has been appointed the Property Council of Australia’s new Queensland Executive Director

The announcement:

The Property Council of Australia is pleased to announce Jen Williams as its new Queensland Executive Director.

Ms Williams has been the Property Council’s Queensland Deputy Executive Director for the past six years. Prior to the Property Council, she held policy roles in Brisbane City Council and the Federal Government and had a career in teaching.

Ms Williams will take over from Chris Mountford, who will take on the position of Chief Executive of Independent Schools Queensland next month.

Property Council Chief Executive Ken Morrison said he was delighted to be able to promote Ms Williams into the role.

“Jen has the policy smarts, leadership skills, government networks and industry respect that will make her a huge success in the role,” Mr Morrison said.

“Most recently Jen has led our Fridays in the City initiative, partnering with Brisbane City Council, business groups and property owners to activate Brisbane CBD following the COVID-19 pandemic.”

Ms Williams said she was excited by the opportunities ahead for Queensland.

“With the Olympic Games hopefully on the horizon, this should be a golden decade for Queensland,” Ms Williams said.

“Hosting the Games is about far more than a sporting event – it will provide the catalyst our state needs to commit to major infrastructure projects and tackle much-needed policy reform in areas ranging from housing supply through to attracting foreign investment.

“City-shaping projects already underway, like Cross River Rail and Queens Wharf, combined with a boost in interstate migration and positive industry sentiment, provide a solid foundation for the industry to leverage.

“Property has a critical role to play in shaping the future of our state. I am excited to be taking on a position to help set the agenda and influence the policy settings that will allow our industry to thrive.”

Ms Williams will commence in the role on 21 June 2021.
