Ace Ventura star and one of Hollywood’s biggest names, Jim Carrey is officially looking to part ways with his long-time Los Angeles home.
The funnyman is listing his mostly one-storey ranch home for US$28.9 million that has been labelled a “one-of-a-kind magical sanctuary”.
According to The Dirt, Carrey said the property has been a “place of enchantment and inspiration” but that he has decided to sell because he no longer spends very much time there and would like “someone else to enjoy it like I have.”
The property includes five bedrooms and six bathrooms, plus three more powder rooms, across nearly 1200sq m of living space.
Inside, there are polished brick and hardwood floors throughout, along with beamed ceilings, fireplaces and large interior areas perfect for a collection of art – something Carrey himself loves to do.
Some of the other features include formal living and dining rooms, both with ridge-line skylights, a large office, a gym, a chef’s kitchen, a “breakfast room”, and a family room with an ebony grand piano.
The primary bedroom has its own covered balcony, a fireplace and its own unique ensuite.
There are also plenty of personal touches in the home, including the Art Deco-style movie theatre that comes with a black marble and mirror bathroom and mohair upholstered lounges.
While outside, the grounds feature large areas of grassy lawn, a large patio, a tennis court, as well as a rock-lined swimming pool and spa, a pool house with bar and fireplace and an infrared sauna and steam room.
