Jody Fewster on how to create an environment that fosters success

Jody Fewster sold her first property for nearly $5 million in Perth’s exclusive Western Suburbs and, from that point onwards, her career has gone from strength to strength.

The selling principal from Ray White Cottesloe | Mosman Park is one of Perth’s top agents, but was also prepared to start as a PA, even though she had an MBA from Harvard and had successfully built and sold a tech startup.

In this interview, with Ray White Head of Performance and Recognition Bianca Denham, Jody talks about how she was able to rapidly become one of Perth’s best performers in the luxury market and what it took to get there.

She discusses the importance of being in a great environment, when you know it’s time to build a team and the types of personalities she looks for in new hires.

Jody also reveals why starting in a tough market can be beneficial, how to delegate effectively, and the one thing that tells you it’s time to become a lead agent.

“Just because you can do a task, doesn’t mean you should. Unless you can teach someone to do your job, you haven’t mastered your job.” – Jody Fewster

Bianca and Jody also discuss:

  • The reason success comes down to a growth mindset.
  • The one thing that tells you it’s time to go out on your own.
  • Why a tough market is the best learning environment.
  • Why your environment might be holding you back.
  • How to make the perfect first hire to help scale your business fast.
  • Why your company structure dictates your growth potential.
  • The best way to develop your ability to delegate.
  • Why you must surround yourself with people who think the same way as you.
