Married actors Kate Mara and Jamie Bell have listed their private retreat in the hills of Los Feliz for US$3.2 million.
The House of Cards actress and her Rocketman husband paid US$2.6 million for the property in 2018, which was designed by acclaimed Pasadena architect Garrett Van Pelt.
According to The Dirt, the traditional-style house was built in 1936 and boasts four bedrooms and three bathrooms in just under 279sq m of living space.
The home is said to be incredibly private, with the property set in a remote pocket of town and hidden behind a thick hedge wall, invisible from the street.
On one side of the property, there’s a detached two-car garage, while on the other side you can find the main entrance behind a locked metal gate at street level that leads down a steep flight of stairs to the house itself.
Mara and Bell have made some cosmetic changes to the property including adding new cabinets and adding two new built-in window seats to the living room.
There are hardwood floors and vaulted ceilings throughout, plus a sunroom with red brick flooring.
A lengthy hallway connects to the various bedrooms and the master suite features built-in cabinets, plus a narrow walk-in closet, while the ensuite is fitted with imported stone finishes and a built-in bathtub
Outside there are grassy lawns, a swimming pool with brick patio and raised spa, a covered dining pavilion with an outdoor fireplace and a host of mature trees.
