Kate Waterhouse selling up in Potts Point

Socialite Kate Waterhouse and her former rugby league player husband Luke Ricketson have put their Potts Point investment property up for auction in February.

The couple, along with their daughters Grace and Sophia, currently reside in a luxurious home overlooking Balmoral Beach, which they acquired for $17.8 million in 2020, marking one of Mosman’s top sales that year.

However, this property on offer is an investment unit located at 7/244-246 William St, Potts Point, purchased in Ms Waterhouse’s name back in 2010 for $525,000, according to realestate.com.au.

It is now scheduled for auction on February 13th, with a price guide of $900,000.

Sources suggest that they are in search of a larger investment property to add to their portfolio.

Listing agent Samuel Schumann, representing Raine & Horne Unlimited, anticipates significant interest in the unit, situated on the second floor.

“Given the location, it’s going to appeal to young professionals, first-home buyers and investors,” Mr Schumann said.

“It’s a great two-bedder, a decent size and open plan — a fantastic unit!”

Property records indicate that the rent for this partially furnished unit surged from $791 in October 2021 to $900 in July 2023.

Mr Schumann estimates that it could command a weekly rental income ranging between $950 and $1050 in the current market.

The unit boasts 50sq m of internal space and a 13sq m balcony.

It is one of 25 units within a block constructed in 1998. Additionally, the building allows pets, subject to approval by the owner’s corporation.
