Singer-songwriter and actress Katherine McPhee, who is best known for her stint on American Idol, is selling her Hollywood home for US$2.695 million.
According to The Dirt, McPhee paid just over US$2 million back in 2017 for the Hollywood Hills estate prior to meeting her husband, music producer David Foster.
The pair recently purchased a “teardown house” in the affluent Brentwood Park neighbourhood for US$7.1 million, while currently residing at Foster’s luxury Wilshire Corridor condo.
Originally built in the 1930s, McPhee’s Hollywood home has been extensively renovated. The four-bedroom, four-bathroom property boasts 1000sq m of living space and includes oak floors, colourful mosaic tile, wood-beam ceilings and skylights.
The three-story structure features a Gothic-arch, wooden front door that opens into a tiled foyer featuring a wrought-iron staircase.
The sunken living room is centred around a large whitewashed stone fireplace, and an adjacent sitting area overlooks the grounds.
There’s also a formal dining room with French doors leading out to a terrace, and a gourmet kitchen with quartz marble countertops, custom cabinetry with Italian hardware, high-end Viking appliances, a wine fridge and sunny breakfast nook.
The primary suite features a fireplace, dual walk-in closets, an ensuite with a soaking tub and glass-encased shower as well as a balcony and sunroom.
On the lower level, there’s a family room with a wet bar and doors that open out to a motorcourt and two-car garage.
Outside, the property boasts a courtyard with a built-in barbecue and fireplace, and an open-air pavilion with a fireside lounge area.
There’s also a tree-lined backyard with grassy lawn.
