One of Australia’s top agents, Taney Jain has announced he’s departing Reliance Real Estate after nine years.
Mr Jain was previously named Australia’s Agent of the Year 2022 by REIA and Residential Sales Person of the Year for Victoria 2021 by REIV, making him one of the leading agents in the country.
Mr Jain said he will be staying in real estate and is looking to set up his own business.
“The decision was made solely based upon creating something for my family,” he said.
Mr Jain said a health scare last year prompted him to start thinking more about the future and how he could best help his family in the future.
“I had some serious health issues after the vaccine, and then I thought to myself, if something happens tomorrow, all I have is some money in a bank account and the trophies on the bookshelf,” he said.
“Obviously, when you can’t take money with you and you go with empty hands, but you can create something for your loved ones.”
Mr Jain said he now has a young daughter and when she gets older, she would have the option of taking over a business, whereas if he were to remain an agent, she wouldn’t have that choice.
He also said the area he was working in was a concern because the suburb was very small and he wanted to expand.
At this point, MrJain said he hadn’t decided on whether he would join a franchise or remain independent, however, his full team will join him.
“I’m moving with my whole team, my sales team, my reception, my admin, my PMs, they’re all going to move with me,” he said.
“And I didn’t ask them, they all decided on their own.”
Mr Jain said Reliance Real Estate had been instrumental in his success and he was leaving on very good terms.
“I’m very thankful for my boss, Abhi,” he said.
“He actually understood the decision as soon as I brought it to him and he helped me in moving out of this as well.
“We are still friends and he did everything possible, to help me move on.
“I am grateful for the invaluable experiences and achievements I have had during my time at Reliance.
“It is now time for me to explore new avenues and bring my expertise to even greater heights and creating a legacy for my team and my family.”
