Kirsten Williams and Maree Chisnall have been named the Australian and New Zealand winners of MRI Software’s 1:1 Leadership Coaching Package to mark National Property Manager’s Day, celebrated in Australia on Friday, July 21 and Wednesday, July 19 in New Zealand.
Delivered by REGROWTH, and valued at $2500 each, the series of one-on-one coaching sessions will focus on leadership and advancing the winners’ property management career goals.
Kirsten Williams, the Harcourts Launceston Department Head – Rentals, said winning the training sessions from MRI made her feel supported as a property manager and matched her ethos of always striving to learn and build on her skills.
“I am passionate about property management,” Ms Williams said.
“I love knowing I get to be the trusted advisor for our clients and support them through the good, bad and all the in-between.
“I believe you should always work on yourself being a lifelong learner to become a stronger version of yourself, and (this prize) is a way for me to pass on my skills and knowledge to my team at Harcourts Launceston and better serve our clients.”
REINZ Head of Residential Property Management Joanne Rae was one of the MRI competition judges – along with Realmark Director Anita Percudani, REGROWTH Founder and Director Kylie Walsh and BresicWhitney Head of Property Management Chantelle Collin – and said there were many high calibre entrants in the competition.
“Wow, it was hard to separate some of the entries,” Ms Rae said.
“It was hard to only award two winners!”
New Zealand winner, Ray White Howick Property Manager Maree Chisnall, has more than a decade of experience in property management and, as a private landlord herself, she is uniquely positioned to understand the needs of both landlords and tenants.
“Property management offers me the opportunity to extend my passion for making a positive difference to individuals and families in need of secure and comfortable homes,” she said.
MRI Software, APAC, Director of Strategy Josh Symons said National Property Manager’s Day is an important annual day on the real estate calendar.
“Property managers are the heart of every agency,” he said.
“They are the foundation builders in creating loyal clients for life.
“Housing is one of Australia’s favourite investment strategies, and the role of a property manager has never been more critical in protecting the quality of such a significant asset as a house or apartment.”
The decision to support property managers with coaching packages on National Property Manager’s Day comes after MRI Software released the Global Voice of the Property Manager Report, which showed that despite the challenges of the job, at least 75 per cent envision their next career step in property management and the residential real industry.
“Offering this professional development opportunity with REGROWTH is another way we acknowledge the desire to grow and pursue a career in property management that we saw in the report,” Mr Symons said.
“That sense of optimism and commitment was consistent in all the nominations too, which is great.”
McGrath Southern Highland’s Kelly Bowrey nominated property manager Natalie Hummel for the coaching package to support her commitment to her role.
“Natalie takes pride in the positive impact she makes on communities by maintaining properties to the highest standards and providing exceptional service that enhances residents’ quality of life,” Ms Bowrey said.
“She embraces opportunities for ongoing professional development and staying updated with industry trends.
“Natalie’s passion for property management drives her to excel and make a difference.”
As a competition judge, Ms Collin said she was honoured to be on the panel.
“Learning and development is something I am so passionate about, and so I’m proud to be a judge alongside fellow industry leaders Anita, Kylie and Joanne in celebrating all property managers in Australia and New Zealand,” Ms Collin said.
