BuildSkills Australia (BuildSkills) will hold consultation workshops around the country as part of qualification reform in the property services industry.
Kicking off later this month, and continuing into September, the workshops are for employers, learners, TAFEs and registered training organisations and cover more than 35
The workshops cover more than 35 qualifications, including CPP31519 Certificate III in Real Estate Practice, CPP41419 Certificate IV in Real Estate Practice, CPP51122 Diploma of Property (Agency Management) and CPP40521 Certificate IV in Strata Community Management, and more.
BuildSkills’ Chief Executive Officer Brett Schimming said the workshops would give members of the property services industry the opportunity to provide feedback and advice to validate and refine the initial findings of the qualification reform stocktake.
Qualification reform is part of the Commonwealth Government’s $12.6 billion investment to improve the relevance and transferability of Vocational Education and Training (VET) qualifications.
Mr Schimming said the workshops focused specifically on the property services industry and the CPP property services training package.
“The reform proposes a revived qualification system that moves away from a ‘one size fits all’ approach, towards a system that allows qualifications to be based on their purposes, particularly responding to changing workplaces and industries,” Mr Schimming said.
“This approach preserves the qualifications that are working well and enables new models that provide flexibility to improve outcomes for learners and industry.
“BuildSkills has carried out a stocktake of training products in the property services industry, with a view to simplifying and rationalising qualifications where possible.”
Mr Schimming said the BuildSkills team would travel to each state and territory capital city throughout late August and early September.
“BuildSkills’ national consultation workshops will give members of the property services industry the opportunity to provide feedback and advice to validate and refine the initial findings of the qualification reform stocktake,” he said.
“This work is critical to progressing qualification reform and ensuring the VET qualification system is responsive, and agile to address skills shortages facing our economy.”
