An office in Doreen adds further weight to Barry Plant’s service offering in this dynamic corridor of Melbourne.
The Announcement:
The Doreen venture is the fifth office that partner, David Moxon, has opened in the area under the Barry Plant banner and is a strategic fit with his other offices in Bundoora, Mill Park, Macleod and Greensborough.
The new office will be led by Jay Moxon in partnership with David Moxon, Michael Egan and Ashlee Jade.
Ashlee Jade, who started in real estate as Jay Moxon’s PA ten years ago, will be the Officer in Effective Control.
The Doreen location is a natural extension of their territory and they already have good market share in the Doreen and Mernda area – business that has been won from their Mill Park office – and the partners expect a physical office to solidify their dominance.
The Barry Plant brand is exceptionally well known in the area as the network has had an agency in Doreen since 2011. The previous office closed four months ago when the then business owner retired from real estate.
But as Jay Moxon acknowledges “We are picking up a good legacy and will be building on the efforts of an agent who worked hard and had a great reputation.”
Joining their team are three local agents who have been operating in the area for five years.
Jay Moxon explains: “They know the area well and we’ve built a strong relationship with them very quickly. They have slotted into our team easily and with their local knowledge we expect to get off to a flying start.”
Doreen is located 26 kilometres north-east of Melbourne’s CBD and in 2015 was one of the fastest growing areas in Australia.
Since then it has developed significant infrastructure – schools, retail, medical facilities.
It’s become popular with professionals and young families, offering larger homes on larger blocks for entry level buyers who can snap up a standard home for around $600K.
“There is a huge variety of housing,” says Jay Moxon. “With homes ranging up to the $2million mark.”
Jay Moxon was brought up in the area and has deep roots that go back to his school and sporting days. “I sell properties for between three and five people a month that I knew in my childhood.
In fact I recently sold a property in Mernda that was owned by someone I played basketball with as a child.”
Barry Plant CEO, Mike McCarthy, is enthusiastic about the new office.
“David and Jay Moxon and their partners have decades of experience in real estate and in this north-eastern corridor. They are accomplished business owners who offer a real estate service that is knowledgeable, professional and personal and that’s why their other four offices have been such a success.”
