Tennis ace Nick Kyrgios has landed a cool penthouse in Sydney, just a month after he made it known he was set to relocate to the Harbour City.
According to realestate.com.au, Kyrgios purchased a $1.6 million penthouse in Kensington, where he will live with partner Costeen Hatzi.
The three-bedroom, two-bathroom apartment with sweeping panoramas appears to be the perfect base for the world number 75, who is expected to skip the upcoming clay court season in Europe and spend more time in Sydney filming an upcoming Netflix documentary.
But Kyrgios has said on social media he will play the 2023 French Open as his girlfriend wants to see Paris. At this year’s Australian Open, Kyrgios and fellow Aussie Thanasi Kokkinakis stunned the world when they won the men’s doubles title with a showy style of tennis.
In recent weeks, Kyrgios has hinted an engagement could be on the cards with Hatzi, often referring to their relationship as “a forever thing” on his Instagram account and posting pictures with padlock and diamond ring emoji.
The two-level 175sq m penthouse features a rooftop wet bar, wraparound, double-height glass with city skyline views that let in plenty of natural light and an integrated kitchen with Miele appliances.
There’s also a lap pool and a gym in the complex and two car parks.
The property last sold in 2011 for $950,000 with the vendors seeking buyers twice in the past four years.
Most recently the property had been a rental with an asking price of $890 per week.
