PEXA has accelerated their growth initiatives with the appointment of Scott Butterworth as the new Chief Data and Analytics Officer.
The Announcement:
Digital property exchange platform PEXA Group has announced the appointment of Scott Butterworth as its new Chief Data and Analytics Officer.
In the role, Mr Butterworth will lead the PEXA Insights business in the development of products and services that harness the unique near real-time, accurate and comprehensive property data held by the PEXA Exchange to create value for governments, consumers and other stakeholders.
Mr Butterworth joins PEXA from ASX-listed law firm Slater & Gordon, where he was Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and sponsored a range of digital and data-driven growth and value creation initiatives.
He brings more than 25 years of corporate experience, having held senior roles at Boston Consulting Group, National Australia Bank, Westpac and Clydesdale Bank, where he served as both CFO and Chief Data Officer.
Mr Butterworth’s appointment, which is effective from 1 November 2021, comes as PEXA accelerates growth initiatives in both domestic and international markets.
“I’m incredibly excited to be joining such an innovative company with so much potential,” Mr Butterworth said.
“I believe PEXA Insights has the opportunity to bring new and compelling property data to the market, helping inform both government housing and lending policies, in addition to a raft of potential smart apps and tools for consumers and the broader property sector.”
With PEXA playing a role in more than 300,000 property transactions a month, a wealth of property and transaction data is captured through the PEXA Exchange, constituting a uniquely comprehensive near real-time data set.
The company is actively building its in-house Property Bureau to harness the rich data and already has a range of pilot products in market, including a Mortgage Collateral Calculator and other tools for financial institutions.
PEXA Group CEO and Managing Director Glenn King said: “This is an exciting new phase of growth for the Company and we’re very pleased to secure a Chief Data and Analytics Officer of Scott’s calibre and experience to lead the PEXA Insights business, and build on the thought-leadership position we have established with our unique property data. I look forward to welcoming him to the PEXA team”.
