Qantas is sub-letting roughly 25,000 square metres of office space in Sydney, Melbourne and Hobart.
The national carrier is looking to sub-lease half of its Sydney headquarters at 10 Bourke St, Mascot, which has been QANTAS’ head office since the late-80s.
The two stand-alone buildings offer close to 20,000sq m of space, at roughly $450 per sq m. The largest building occupies 14,690 sq m over six floors; each floor can be leased separately.
The airline will also sub-lease 2000sq m of office space in Melbourne (at 333 Collins Street) and 1500sq m at Qantas Premium Contact Centre in Hobart.
Colliers International South Sydney director Michael Crombie told the Daily Telegraph that the low rental price “will be the major selling point” of the Sydney property, “especially when occupiers see the quality of this fit out”.
“We are seeing an increasing number of Sydney CBD and fringe tenants looking at South Sydney as a great alternative,” Mr Crombie added.
“We still have incredible access to rail and amenities.”
