Queensland CEO Mitch Peereboom becomes Harcourts shareholder

Harcourts Queensland Chief Executive Officer Mitch Peereboom has signed a shareholder contract and is now a part-owner and director of Harcourts Queensland.

“Off of the incredible growth seen this year in the Harcourts Queensland offices, this latest development is hugely significant,” Harcourts Australia CEO Adrian Knowles said.

“This shareholder agreement points to security of leadership and continued growth in Queensland.

“Although Harcourts as a network of offices and agents has seen increasing numbers and market share, internal growth is just as important as external.”

Mr Peereboom has a long association with Harcourts, joining the group in 2011.

He discovered his passion for the auction process, where his skills, energy, and leadership saw him quickly become Harcourts Queensland’s chief auctioneer at the age of 19.

He went on to call more than 8000 auctions and was the most booked auctioneer in the country before accepting the Harcourts Queensland CEO position in 2021.

Now, as a shareholder, his commitment to Harcourts could not be stronger.

“Harcourts has a culture of energy and community which has seen the organisation rapidly grow over the last 26 years and become home to some of leading real estate businesses in Australia.” Mr Peereboom said.

“As we look to the future, we have a responsibility to keep reinvigorating ourselves and to bring fresh, optimistic leadership to the group.

“Our dynamic team are laser focussed on continual improvement to ensure we are creating an inspirational environment for our people to grow their careers.

“This is a journey I am proud to be a part of.”

This year has already been a big one for Mr Peereboom, with the Harcourts Queensland team presenting a record-setting number of auctions in one day, and more recently Mr Peereboom spearheaded a recruitment strategy that saw more than 110 agents join the group in a four month period.

“We have opened 23 offices in the last 2 years, and now have over 500 agents operating throughout the state across 55 offices,” he said.

“We want to build the leading real estate company in Queensland, and we must continue to partner with great people to make this happen.”

Harcourts International Managing Director Mike Green said he was thrilled for Mr Peereboom and Harcourts Queensland.

“Having Mitch as a shareholder considerably strengthens Harcourts position in the Queensland real estate market space,” he said.

“Ours is an industry where top talent tends to move about, and I get that.

“But Mitch’s commitment to his team, and Harcourts generally and Queensland in particular, as signified by his becoming a shareholder, guarantees this top talent says true to blue!”
