In a bid to strengthen its presence in South Australia, Raine & Horne had reacquired its real estate business from long-term franchise holders, Chris and Sue Weston for an undisclosed sum late last year.
The husband and wife team who has been operating the group’s franchise since 1996 is the latest business to be reacquired by Raine & Horne after similar operations were carried out in Western Australia and Queensland in 2008 and 2009, respectively.
“As part of our strategic plans, we convinced Chris and Sue Weston, who had built a strong network of offices in South Australia, to switch to Raine & Horne,” Raine & Horne executive chairman Angus Raine said.
“(And) as a result of our mutual discussions, Chris and Sue have decided to focus their attentions on their Raine & Horne offices at Oakbank, Birdwood, Gawler, Two Wells, Blackwood and Raine & Horne Darwin, which they own and operate,” he said.
Chris who was last year recognised by the Real Estate Institute of South Australia as one of its best salespersons is buoyant by move especially in regards to the Raine & Horne’s plans in the state.
“We will continue to work with Angus and (Raine & Horne chief executive) Brian Reid, together with South Australian general manager, Michael McDonald, and his team, to grow the reach of the Raine & Horne brand in this state,” said Chris.
Despite the buyout, Sue reiterated that her family’s association with the company was set to continue for many years to come.
“We are proud of our 20-year relationship with the Raine family firstly with former chairman Max Raine and more recently (with) Angus,” she said.
“With our son Tom Weston leading Raine & Horne (in) Mount Barker, and our daughter Georgia at Raine & Horne Oakbank, we look forward to continuing our long association with Raine & Horne,” she added.
