Ray White New Farm welcomes high-flying agent

Ray White New Farm has welcomed high-flying agent Richard Barlow into the role of Sales and Marketing Consultant.

“I’ve been in real estate for six years, first working for an independent selling in the CBD and Spring Hill, before shifting to another independent in Teneriffe then an agency in New Farm for four years,” Mr Barlow said.

“I’ve lived in New Farm and Teneriffe for the last 20 years having owned several properties in both suburbs across that time. I’m passionate about the ‘peninsula’ and believe it to offer the best lifestyle of any suburb in Brisbane.

“I had an interest and passion for real estate as soon as I bought and sold my first property, making some money.

“It was a reasonable sum and was more than I’d earnt from wages for the 12 months prior. How good is this, I thought. How good would it be if you knew what you were doing?

“I bring with me a work ethic and a strong desire to be one of the best in the industry.”

Mr Barlow, whose career highlights include being named fourth best agent in Queensland and 12th in the country with his previous agency, said Australia’s biggest real estate group was too good an opportunity to pass up.

“Ray White is without doubt the biggest and best real estate brand in the country. Their support, systems and structures are second to none,” he said.

“The New Farm office boasts two of the biggest real estate influencers in Brisbane in Matt Lancashire and Haesley Cush. The opportunity to learn from them both is very exciting.

“Between my team and I, I aspire to provide my clients with the best level of service we can, to achieve outstanding sales results and to have fun while doing it.

“In one year I hope to be well and truly entrenched as an Elite Agent, within five years I aim to be a Chairman’s Elite and in 10 years, hopefully enjoying a cold beer on a beach somewhere watching the Aussies retain the Ashes once more.”

Away from the real estate coalface, Mr Barlow said he was a massive foodie, and enjoyed going to restaurants and cooking classes.

“I only left Australia for the first time five years ago so it’s one of my goals to travel overseas at least once a year and of course enjoy the local delicacies,” he said.

“This year we’ve been to Hawaii and Las Vegas and I’m about to head to Tasmania, which could be classed as overseas, depending on who you talk to. And we’re looking at Bali before Christmas and we’re heading to the Cook Islands early next year.

“I’m a passionate Brisbanite and Queenslander. The Broncos are my team followed by anyone else playing out of Brisbane. Then it’s Queensland in Origin, the Bulls in Sheffield Shield, the Reds in rugby, the Aussies in cricket and the Wallabies for international rugby.”

Ray White New Farm Principals Matt Lancashire and Haesley Cush said they were pleased to welcome an agent of such high calibre to the team.

“You only have to look at Richard’s track record across Brisbane and his results in New Farm and Teneriffe in particular to know he’s the real deal,” Mr Lancashire said.

“His figures for the 2018-19 financial year were excellent and he will be a terrific asset to the wider team as we look to increase our market share.

“Richard holds the number one market share in Teneriffe with 23 per cent and is widely known as the expert agent for the area,” Mr Cush said.

“He has the lowest number of days on market across his core area and is customer focused and passionate about achieving market-leading results for his clients.”
