Peak body for the Queensland real estate profession The Real Estate Institute of Queensland is hosting two forums in Townsville on Wednesday 13 February to help all real estate professionals manage issues arising from the floods.
REIQ CEO Antonia Mercorella said the REIQ Townsville Flood Forum was free to all Townsville real estate professionals and was designed to answer all of their most pressing questions.
“We’ve been fielding calls from real estate professionals who, understandably, are unsure of what the next steps must be to help their clients and each other.
“We’ve assembled a team of experts who will attend these forums and will be able to answer a broad range of questions to help the real estate professionals of Townsville get back on its feet.
“We’re also thrilled to welcome the Department of Housing and Public Works to our forum, along with the Residential Tenancies Authority, the Office of Fair Trading, and many more, who will share all the vital information that our agents need to keep moving forward.”
Ms Mercorella said real estate professionals were focused on helping their clients through this disaster.
“We’ve been hearing amazing stories of property managers coordinating efforts to re-home people and going above and beyond to help their clients whose properties have flooded.
“We want to help with that effort and make sure that everyone has all the information they need to keep their doors open and their business running.”
The REIQ Townsville Flood Forums will be held at the Townsville Casino, Wednesday 13 February in two sessions: 10am and 1pm. Anyone wishing to attend should register at REIQ.com/forums.
