Rose Bay mansion sale could match record price

A Rose Bay waterfront mansion is expected to hit the market with expectations of $100 million or more, with one report putting the asking price at an Australian record-equaling $130 million.

Wentworth Courier reports that multiple sources indicate that the vendors of 14 Tivoli Ave, Rose Bay are preparing to list the property for sale.

The paper reports that one source says the vendors want as much as $130 million, which would match Australia’s record-breaking purchase by Atlassian’s Scott Farquahar in Point Piper last year.

It’s understood that 14 Tivoli Ave is held by residential and commercial property investor Orazio Camuglia, according to the Wentworth Courier.

It’s set on a 1125sq m block.

If 14 Tivoli Ave sells for expectations it will become the third Australia residential property to have sold for $100 million or more.

Atlassian Co-founder Scott Farquhar paid a whopping $130 million for the Point Piper trophy home ‘Uig Lodge’ in 2022.

It’s the highest price ever paid for a house in Australia.

Mr Farquhar and his investment banker wife, Kim Jackson, bought the Wentworth St property prior to Christmas despite it not being listed with agents, according to realestate.com.au.

Set on a 3300sq m block, Uig Lodge was built at the turn of last century in the style of a Scottish baronial castle.

It had previously traded for $9.2 million in 1996 when Steven and Carol Moss, of the Katies fashion chain, bought it.

The previous record for the most expensive Australian home was held by Mr Farquhar’s Atlassian co-founder, Mike Cannon-Brookes, who paid $100 million for Point Piper’s Fairwater in 2018 – the only other property known to have sold for $100 million.
