I remember changing backup tapes and putting them into the fireproof safe, and then sending them off-site. And then somebody would come along, and they would take away the weekly backups, and we’d have the daily backups stored, and that would go in the monthly backups, and so on and so forth. It’s very expensive. It’s very labor-intensive. You usually need people with technical expertise to do it, but with Clay Computing, effectively very fast, very effective. You can back up any time, anywhere. If that were Clay Computing, often there’s basically just continual backup, so it’s happening to make sure that you’ve got it set up, and it’s running efficiently.
And that occasionally you go back and check because sometimes, I mean I have done this myself, I’ve thought that the backup is actually running and it’s getting to 99% and then it fails. So I haven’t actually gone to check that it’s actually been 100% successful, so sometimes I’ve heard some horror stories where people have thought they legitimately have got backups and then when they needed them, they realised actually they’d been failing all along. The checklist at the back of the small business guide actually gives you a series of questions that you can ask of yourself and your business. Even if you take some of those simple steps, I mean it’s not everything, but it’s definitely a start and it will make a big impact to your business.
