He might be one of Hollywood’s most profitable actors, but even the biggest stars have to follow market conditions.
Matt Damon just reduced his Pacific Palisades mansion in Los Angeles by just more than US$3 million, having moved to Brooklyn Heights earlier this year.
Damon listed his Zen-inspired Pacific Palisades mansion for sale in January for US$21 million. The asking price has now been reduced to US$17.9 million, according to toptenrealestatedeals.com.
But it seems like the reduction was just what somebody was waiting for, with an undisclosed buyer snapping up the stunning home just a few weeks after Damon lowered the price.
Damon’s former residence boasts seven bedrooms, 10 bathrooms, and nearly three-quarters of an acre of lushly landscaped grounds with mature trees, a koi pond, a children’s play area and a resort-style pool and spa.

The actor loved it so much that he reportedly considered moving to Ireland. Instead, Damon and his family have taken up residence in their US$16.75 million Brooklyn Heights penthouse. At its time of sale, it was the most expensive piece of residential real estate ever sold in Brooklyn.
